The arena was the Las Vegas Convention Center. The spectacle, Metaverse Expo, 2022. A 3-day extravaganza was promised and it undoubtedly was delivered. As the show came to town from 8th-10th July, over 6000 attendees thronged the venue.
The convention turned out to be an ideal meeting ground for the newest NFT projects and players entering the NFT/Web3.0 market. Over 50 exhibitors showcased their collections and projects at the convention.
Not only was the conference a great place for creators and entrepreneurs, but the event also hosted a series of informative talks and panels. 40+ thought-leaders and informed speakers took the stage and delivered over 50 talks. Industry leaders shared their expertise and creators shared their vision. The event also hosted several riveting panels about NFTs, Web3.0 and their evolution.
One such panel that interested the attendees was about Empowering Women and Building Communities in Web3.0. Moderated by policy strategist and communications expert Lisa Chikarovski-Johnston, the panel featured the Founder & CEO of Orbis86, Soniya Ahuja, along with blockchain advisor Brenda Gentry, Founder & CEO of Women in Crypto Global, Julie Taubman, and COO, Disco Burn Token, Carmen Indalecio. After talking about women in tech and Web3.0, the panel shed light on several pressing issues, such as the importance of diversity and authenticity in the crypto space. A highlight of the discussion was when Soniya alluded to the promise crypto—the people’s currency holds for people from across the world. She went on to detail how it is incumbent on the community to reach people where they are and how cryptocurrencies could potentially help level the playing field and empower people in struggling economies
