A festival of NFTs, metaverses, and DAOs was promised. More was delivered! What a ride Dcentralcon 2022 turned out to be.
The Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, Texas was buzzing on June 7th-8th. The most prominent thought leaders graced the event. Leading entrepreneurs made their presence felt. We are glad that Orbis86 was there too. As we took in everything the event had to offer, we spent time with some of the coolest new NFT projects out there.
Fun as it was, the event was informative and featured several deep dives into topics like DAO formation and decentralized finance. As promised, over 80 thoughtful speakers graced the stage. There were over 2000 attendees who thronged the two stages to listen to the speakers.
To see the event succeed on the scale it did was particularly satisfying for us at Orbis86 as we were a proud sponsor of the event. Founder & CEO of Orbis86, Soniya Ahuja also spoke at the event.
In what turned out to be one of the most engrossing panels of the event, Soniya took part in a Web3.0 panel moderated by Rakia Reynolds, Founder & Executive Officer of Skai Blue Media. Along with Soniya, the panel featured Kitty Grier, the founder of NFT Girl Gang and Karisa Winett, VP of Ops, NFT Genius. After talking about what Web3.0 means, the panel spoke about the barriers that impede mass adoption of web3.0, the promise of DeFi and the need to meet people where they are. One of the highlights of the discussion was when Soniya laid out an action plan to enable mass adoption by detailing three key steps to take this challenge head on.
